Cookies
This site does not use cookies. That is the whole answer, but here is what it means.
Why there is no banner
You are asked to accept cookies when a site stores something on your device or reads something from it. We do neither: no cookie, no local storage, no browser fingerprint. There is nothing to consent to, so we do not interrupt you to ask.
What we measure instead
We count visits, and that is all. Two things do the counting, both of them ours:
- Plausible, running on our own server, not on someone else's. It reports how many people read which page and where they arrived from. It sets no cookie and cannot tell one visitor from another.
- A count of our own for the path of the page, the site you came from and the
utm_sourceof the link, plus a tally of clicks on the install link. It is a daily total with nobody attached to it: we cannot follow anyone between visits, and we do not try.
There is no advertising network, no social widget and no third party tracker on this site. That is deliberate: the product exists because nothing should leave your browser unless you ask, and this page would be a strange place to contradict it.
The extension
The FrontBug extension does not use cookies either. What it records while you review a page, and what never leaves your browser, is described in the privacy policy.
If this changes
If we ever add something that stores data on your device, you will see a consent request before it runs, and this page will list it. We would rather lose a metric than break that.
